Gary Lyew-Ayee, SPHR, SHRM-SCP  
President

Gary Lyew-Ayee has more than 15 years of progressive human resources experience in multiple disciplines. He has worked in various industries; including Telecommunications, Power, Financial, Service and most recently HealthCare.  Currently, he is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Broward Health Imperial Point.  Prior to joining Broward Health, he was a Human Resources Manager at Baptist Health South Florida.  He has been actively involved in South Florida SHRM chapters for over five years.  

Gary holds a Bachelor's Degree from Florida International University and is certified as both a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). 



DeLancey Johnson, DBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, sHRBP

Dr. Johnson is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, sHRBP), and is an active member of the South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum (SFHEF).  He holds a BA from Edward Waters College, an MBA from Syracuse University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources Management from Northcentral University in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Johnson also invests his time and talents as a course instructor for The Business Leadership Institute for Early Learning (BLI), where he teaches the V’locity: Accelerating Growth & Leadership for Early Learning Childcare Entrepreneurs Module IV: Human Resources.

He has over 19 years of HR experience working internationally, domestically in public and private sectors for-profit and non-profit organizations. Currently, Dr. Johnson is the Director of Employee Relations with Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Florida.



Eduardo Safille, PHR, SHRM-CP

Eduardo Safille (“Eddie”) is a multifaceted management professional, consultant, and academic with advanced legal training in international arbitration and dispute resolution. He studied international politics and mandarin Chinese at the University of Pennsylvania, earned his law degree from Washington and Lee University, and master of laws in international arbitration from the University of Miami. He holds an Advanced Certificate in Strategic HR Management from Cornell University, as well as PHR and SHRM-CP human resource designations. Finally, he is a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator certified practitioner.

Eddie worked for the Florida Department of Health, holding positions as Labor Relations Manager, Director of Human Resources, and Director of Talent Management. Through his human resource work, he has recognized behavioral trends in employees who have succeeded and failed, and implemented strategies to identify these behaviors at an early stage, during the recruitment process. He benefited from a decade of work experience in the hospitality industry, which influenced his perpetual emphasis on customer service – a behavioral competency consistently demonstrated by top performers. In addition to his HR work, Eddie teaches graduate level human resources at Florida International University, in the Master of Science in Human Resource Management program (ranked #1 program by HR.com). He currently serves as the Vice President of Talent Management for Arc Broward.




Helen Guzzi

Helen graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and worked as a high school English teacher for Broward County Public Schools. After several years of teaching, she decided to make a major career change, so she went back to school and graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Management from Nova Southeastern University. She now works as a Relationship Manager for MedPro International (part of MedPro Healthcare Staffing). She is responsible for managing foreign-educated nurses, coaching and mentoring them in their transition and assimilation to life in the US, and managing expectations and ensuring compliance with contract terms. Helen is also an active advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association and Habitat for Humanity.



Michelle Pinder, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-CP

Michelle has solid HR experience with ground zero business build out, mergers and acquisitions with the ability to bridge the gap between the organizational goals and corporate business initiatives and being the employee advocate.  She has 20+ years of Human Resources experience in many sectors – public, private and non-profit and has held multiple leadership roles with her most current being the Director of Human Resources and Operations with MEDNAX where she leads the National Radiology HR team.  She has worked with major health systems in South Florida - Baptist Health South Florida and in Las Vegas, Nevada with Universal Health Services/Valley Health Systems where she was the Director of Human Resources for their largest hospital.  She has a passion to she team members growing, learning and challenged to their full potential. She enjoys working with youths and helps them to be their best and to always stay focused on the goals. 

Mrs. Pinder has served in various volunteer leadership capacities in the local community in both Broward and Dade Counties.  She also participates and actively donates her time to various non-profits including the Alzheimer's Association. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Florida Atlantic University. She also holds her Masters in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University along with National HR professional certifications – Sr. Professional in Human Resources (SPHR, SHRM-SCP).


Tatiana Rosa

Tatiana is a Benefits Consultant for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (Gallagher) in the South Florida market and has over 18 years of management, technology consulting and human resources experience in various industries. Tatiana is responsible for business development & management, providing strategic solutions for health and welfare, including benefits administration, compliance, wellness, employee communications and technology, in order to help organizations have happier, healthier, more productive employees and achieve the best financial outcome possible.

Prior to joining Gallagher, Tatiana was a technology consultant at Liazon Corporation, which is the private exchange technology platform that powers the Gallagher Marketplace. Her areas of expertise also include PEO solutions as well as payroll and HRIS systems technology as an account executive and solutions consultant in those arenas. Tatiana has a BSBA and an MBA from Old Dominion University and is actively involved in various local Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) organizations.

Juan Meireles Jr. is the Human Resources Manager at Quantum Marina Stabilizers. As the HR leader Juan's goal is to introduce innovative practices to keep employees engaged and productive while ensuring compliance and profitability within the company. Prior to the Human Resources Manager position, Juan developed his HR skills as the Human Resources Generalist and Human Resources Assistant at Quantum Marina Stabilizers.


Juan holds a Masters of Science degree in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) from Florida International University (FIU) and is PHR and SHRM-CP certified.

Karen Cerrato is a seasoned HR professional with vast experience in Human Resources and a passion for high growth and fast paced environments. Currently, she is the HR Director for Lennox National Account Services, a division of Lennox International Inc.. Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, she leads the HR Operations for their national service organization.  Previously, Karen spent 10 years with Kos Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  holding several progressive HR roles including Sr. Manager, Human Resources for their Florida facilities. Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies with a Certificate in HR from Barry University and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University.

Joshua Paul, MBA, FPC

Joshua A. Paul is a Major Market Sales Executive with Paycor, a Fortune 200 technology company specializing in HR management software and outsourced services.  He is a leader in sales strategy, talent development, and process improvement.

As an accomplished sales and marketing leader, Joshua has a passion to cultivate future leaders and help them learn the critical skills imperative to creating culture, achieving business goals, and developing healthy mutually beneficial collaborative sales relationships. He actively serves throughout the South Florida area with Vous and other non-profits.

Garrett Kamen

Garrett is a highly experienced labor and employment attorney and has represented some of the largest employers in Florida and New York.

It is Garrett’s belief that employers are best served by avoiding litigation altogether, when they can. That is why he works closely with corporate executives and human resource departments to craft strategies that help them minimize risks and keep costs down. By analyzing human resources data, evaluating promotion and termination decisions, and providing workplace training programs, Garrett has helped numerous clients keep their sensitive, workplace information out of the public eye.

When litigation arises, Garrett has defended clients in some of the toughest cases, from large class actions to those involving a single plaintiff. Unlike many attorneys, Garrett is ready and capable to go to trial when needed, because he understands the importance of winning when reputations are on the line. In addition to his role as Legislative Affairs Director at HRABC, Garrett is a frequent writer and speaker offering his insights on numerous employment law and HR-related topics.



Donna Marshall

Donna enjoys working in the field of Human Resources.  Her passion is helping other successfully gain employment and identifying top talent. As Senior Director of Human Resources and Training, Donna is responsible for hiring, training and retaining talent. She is committed to ensuring leadership is developed and offers training opportunities that are appropriate to the position. Currently, she is focused on developing a companywide Succession and Talent Management plan.  She passionately protects the agency's most valuable resource: human capital. Her capabilities extend beyond the League by seizing opportunities to serve as conference speaker, trainer, lecturer, coach and mentor. She began undergraduate studies in Cincinnati and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree after relocating to South Florida.  She also holds an Associates of Arts Degree.  She is a long standing member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM); serves on the Board of Human Resource Association of Broward County (HRABC) as the Workforce Readiness Director, and member of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR).

Deifilia Lanza is the Senior Human Resources Business Partner for Fresco y Mas, brand new grocery chain focus is provide our Hispanic and Caribbean customers with an experience that make them feel at home. She has held various Human Resources position with Southeastern Grocers. She has an extensive experience in Hiring, Training, Performance Managing, Associates Relations, and Strategic HR.

Deifilia holds both certifications: PHR and SHRM-CP as well as Coaching in Engagement and Performance Certification with HCI, and a Bachelor in Business Administration with specialization in Management and Human Resources from Florida International University.

Jeri Dembrak is a bilingual, English/Spanish, Consultant for TBTI, The Benefits Translators, Inc, which originally started out as a translation company specializing in employee benefits & open enrollment meetings and grew into an HR portfolio consulting business that can analyze an organization from the customer, vendor & employee perspectives to create a 360 of the organization –good, bad and ugly and how do you move the needle?  Business was full-time from 1996-2002, part-time through 2014, dormant from 2014-2017 and then restarted January 2017. She also worked at Accor Hotels at their regional office providing talent, culture & recognition services for North America, Central America & the Caribbean where she delved into all areas of compensation, benefits, HRIS, nine-box and succession planning and trained field teams to pick up her responsibilities due to the M&A with Fairmont as the hotels assumed responsibilities for their own compliance, open enrollments, compensation analysis, recruiting & payroll & benefits processing. 

Jeri set up an HR department from scratch for Nutritionsmart. Before moving to South Florida from DC, Jeri served as a Spanish Smithsonian Teacher Leader for four years in Prince William County Schools teaching students to be digital natives and as an ESOL teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools where she was an instrumental steering committee member that built a community center to serve as a resource to provide life-skills coaching & career advice for immigrant parents.  She also taught salsa and ran the now defunct website, TheSalsaNews and newsletter rating top 10 in SEO ratings for Latin dance and music in DC and served as the Washington area’s Latin American Music Historian and created Latin music concerts, festivals, fundraisers and Hispanic Heritage Month events.  She worked at NADA for a short time to audit their benefits, set up self-service & open enrollment & conduct a cost/benefit analysis of rolling out the association programs to member dealerships.

Finally, Jeri started out as a benefits consultant earning her CEBS in 1996 and serving as an Assistant Vice President of Employee Benefits for Sedgwick.  She is a continuous learner who is currently studying project management, Agile methodologies, design systems thinking, blockchain and robotic process automation and how they will impact the future of people & processes and the customer, vendor & employment experiences.

Magda spent 11 years in various HR Management and Executive Positions, including Executive Recruiter and Recruitment and Staffing Manager. Magda is a certified High-Performance Coach from Brendon Burchard High Performance Academy and holds the SHRM Certification as a Senior Certified Professional SCP-SHRM and SPHR Certification as Senior Professional Human Resources. She also holds a bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from University of Puerto Rico. Today, Magda is a licensed multi-channel partner for Great People Inside in USA – First global platform for fully customized assessments.

Leanna graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Anthropology. With several years of work experience and management, she currently serves as the Billing and Finance Manager for a major corporate real estate firm in South Florida. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) from Florida International University.

With a passion for maximizing human capital to enhance the organization’s competitive advantage, she is committed to motivating employees and teams to achieve goals by providing a supportive work environment and other resources such as training and coaching.

Serving as the Assistant Communications Director for HRABC in 2019 and the Student Relations Director for 2020, Leanna is focused on building a platform for the next generation of young professionals in Broward County through organization’s networking activities and social media.
